A Montgomery County man lost his life last month when his car collided with a semi-truck making a U-turn on Interstate 70. The auto accident happened in Baltimore County, according to a report at washingtonpost.com.
At around 2:30 a.m., the victim’s Chevy Suburban struck the side of the semi-truck as it attempted a U-turn. Authorities declared the 26-year-old victim dead at the accident scene. A spokesperson for the Maryland State Police Department said the semi-driver made an illegal U-turn. After the impact, the victim’s SUV became stuck under the semi-trailer, according to the report. The victim was not wearing a seatbelt.
Authorities do not know if they will criminally charge the semi-driver at this time. Investigators are trying to determine if alcohol played a factor in the fatal collision.
