By Peter DePaolis
Attorney

Koonz, McKenney, Johnson & DePaolis L.L.P managing partner William P. Lightfoot will teach advanced deposition techniques and strategies to lawyers attending a four-day program in New Orleans January 15-18.  The program enhances the performance of even the most experienced trial lawyer. Lightfoot will lecture about methods for “Establishing Standards of Care and Conduct with Defense Witnesses”, including witnesses in cases of vehicle collisions, premises liability, and medical malpractice. He will also lead a discussion group each day. “I learn many fabulous techniques from the numerous outstanding trial attorneys who travel from across the country to share ideas,” Lightfoot said.

Lightfoot devotes his professional and political careers to improving our community. Whether representing the people of Washington, D.C. as clients or as constituents, he has successfully made the metropolitan area safer for everyone.

Decades of Experience with Deposition Techniques as a Washington, D.C. Injury Attorney

For eight years, Lightfoot served as an at-large member of the Council of the District of Columbia, where he chaired the Committee on the Judiciary. During his tenure on the Council, he continued to practice personal injury law.

For more than 30 years, Lightfoot has had experience working as a Washington, D.C. injury attorney. He has had notable success not only in securing compensation for burn victims and but also in reforming negligent industries. After a series of successful recoveries for children disfigured by scalding water, Lightfoot’s efforts helped convince utility companies, manufacturers, and landlords to lower temperatures on water heaters and to warn consumers about the risk of burn injuries from scalding water.

Recognition of Lightfoot’s contributions often appears in the media. Since 1992 the Washingtonian Magazine has regularly selected Lightfoot as one of the best lawyers in the District of Columbia, and he is often quoted on matters of law and politics in the Washington Post and on MSNBC, as well as on local TV stations.
