Koonz, McKenney, Johnson & DePaolis L.L.P associate Kelly Fisher has been selected to run the 2016 Boston Marathon with the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides financial support to cancer patients and their families and funds research for pediatric brain cancer!
Kelly Fisher is Raising Money for Cancer Research
Fisher will run the famed 26.2-mile Massachusetts race with Team JAF, which raises money for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. The application process for Boston Marathon charity teams is extremely competitive. Runners must complete an extensive application and commit to raising thousands of dollars for their charity. Fisher chose Team JAF because it encourages its runners to spread its “(Up)Beat” philosophy as they fundraise and compete, showing how a positive attitude can conquer any hurdle.
Fisher represents clients in a wide range of personal injury areas including car accidents, premises liability, negligent security, hiring and training, construction accidents and medical malpractice. She is admitted to practice law in Virginia, the District of Columbia, New Jersey and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Fisher is active in local bar associations. She serves on the DC Bar Tort Law Steering Committee and is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Tort Law Section of the DC Bar. She is also a co-chair of the Women’s Bar Association’s Community Projects Committee. Additionally, Fisher has spoken at an American Association for Justice seminar in Atlanta on trial techniques, and she has spoken to law students about making the transition from student to lawyer.
Prior to joining the firm, Fisher was a law clerk in the Senior Judge’s Chambers in DC Superior Court. Fisher graduated from The College of New Jersey with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1999. She attended law school at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., graduating with honors.
