According to officials, last month a construction worker building a Bethesda home died in an accident involving a mini excavator.
The accident happened just after 8:30 a.m. while a group of construction workers were building a large home. Officials say that the victim, a 41-year-old man who worked for Castlewood Builders, was operating the excavator when it unexpectedly tipped over. At that point, the worker became pinned between the machine and the side of the house.
Two of the victim’s coworkers suffered minor injuries after they punched out the glass window of the excavator in an attempt to save the man. The 41-year-old was taken to a local hospital where he died from the injuries he sustained.
