Has There Been a Graco Stroller Recall?

By Peter DePaolis

If you own a Graco stroller, you should be aware that the company recently recalled more than 4.7 million models after amputations were reported due to defects.

According to CNN, the company recalled the models after it received reports of “10 full or partial fingertip amputations and one laceration.” The models reportedly have hinges on the side that can pinch a child’s finger.

Among the recalled models:

  • Aspen
  • Breeze
  • Capri
  • Cirrus
  • Glider
  • Kite
  • LiteRider
  • Sierra
  • Solara
  • Sterling
  • TravelMate

CNN reported that caregivers are being asked to use caution when unfolding the strollers until a safety fix is made available for the products later this month. The news outlet reported that Graco received “six reports of fingertip amputation, four reports of partial-fingertip amputation and one finger laceration.”

The models were reportedly sold from August 1, 2000 to September 25, 2014 at Target, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart and other retail stores.

A Defective Product Injured My Child. Can I File a Lawsuit?

Remember, if a defective product, like a stroller, car seat or high chair, injures your child, you can file a personal injury lawsuit. Amputations are serious personal injuries, often requiring physical therapy and rehabilitation—money awarded from a lawsuit can help pay for costs associated with care.

Any company that puts out a product marketed towards children should make sure its safety is excellent. Our attorneys help victims in Fairfax County, Prince William County, Loudoun County and Arlington County.
