On the night of October 29, a 17-year-old young man was killed in a two-vehicle car crash in Upper Marlboro. The tragic car accident killed him and left three others in the vehicle injured, including his twin brother.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Ritchie Marlboro Road and Brown Road. Prince George’s County Police reported the vehicle the 17-year-old was riding in with three others collided with another car at the intersection for unknown reasons. Authorities believe speed may have been a factor.

Police stated that the young man died at the scene of the crash.

The Deadly Consequences of Car Accidents

Car crashes are the most common of all transportation accidents, mainly because Americans spend so much time every day commuting to and from work in their automobiles. Car accidents kill over 30,000 annually, and car accident injuries can cause death long after the accident occurs. Spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries in particular can lead to death months or even years after the accident.
