The Washington Post recently reported on a spate of pedestrian automobile accidents in the Washington, D.C. area, several of which resulted in fatalities. Many of these types of accidents are due to driver inattentiveness, carelessness, or other acts of negligence on the part of the driver. She blamed not just the driver of the vehicle that struck her, but also the DC police and the city for failing to make its intersections safe for pedestrians.
