Catastrophic Motorcycle Accident Injures Six in Alexandria, VA

A frightening motorcycle accident occurred recently in Alexandria when a bike crashed through the window of a church daycare, injuring five children and the motorcyclist.

According to Patch.com, the accident occurred on June 16 at the Church of Saint Clement on North Quaker Lane. A car was reportedly attempting to make a left turn across the roadway when it collided with a motorcycle traveling northbound.

The motorcycle then flew into the window of the daycare, off the road. At the time of the incident, 10 children and a teacher were in the room the bike landed in. Five children were sent to the hospital with injuries. The motorcyclist was also hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police are still investigating the accident and believe that speed may have factored into the crash. Residents in the area say that they have witnessed many vehicles speeding recently. Charges are pending.

Our Attorneys Represent Injured Motorcyclists

Unfortunately, many motorcycle accidents occur because of the negligence and recklessness of others on the road. In fact, a 2013 study by the University of South Florida found that 60 percent of the time, motorists in other vehicles are at fault when they collide with motorcycles.

Motorcycle accidents can occur as other drivers tailgate, do not look when making turns, speed through intersections or are distracted. Unfortunately, all of these actions put motorcyclists at risk for injuries or death.

Be careful this summer and watch out for bikers. Our lawyers have more than 30 years of experience working on behalf of those injured in motorcycle accidents.
