It also employed paid advertisements to provide awareness of officers’ efforts and to educate people as to the dangers of drunk driving.

Holidays typically see a spike in alcohol-related deaths, as people drive to see family and friends and attend gatherings. The two holidays during which most drunk driving accidents occur are Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve.
