Attorney Peter DePaolis Secures $1.78 Million Settlement for Medical Malpractice Victim

Attorney Peter DePaolis recently secured a $1.78 million settlement for a victim of medical malpractice. Our client, a 53-year-old woman, received a biopsy result after a mammogram that was positive for breast cancer. The woman began cancer treatment and underwent a mastectomy, and her tissue was sent for additional testing. It was then discovered that the initial test was erroneous, and a laboratory mix-up resulted in a false positive for breast cancer. As a result of this negligence, our client underwent an unnecessary mastectomy, lymph node biopsies, placement of intravenous catheters and complicated breast reconstruction.
