An arrest has been made in the fatal hit-and-run of a pedestrian in Southeast Washington, D.C.. On April 28th at around 8:40 pm, a 68-year-old woman was walking south on Southern Ave when she was struck by a tan 1999 Mercedes Benz. Unfortunately, the victim did not survive her injuries.

Police investigated and tracked the car to a DC Police-licensed security guard, who claimed the vehicle had been stolen that night. The security guard originally called the police to report the vehicle stolen, but later she admitted that she was driving the car when it struck the 68-year-old pedestrian. The security guard was arrested and now faces charges of involuntary manslaughter.
