The law firm of Koonz, McKenney, Johnson, DePaolis & Lightfoot, LLP helped sponsor the 35th Metropolitan Washington Council AFL-CIO awards dinner and dance, “Evening with Labor,” on March 10, 2012. The “Evening with Labor” awards dinner and dance acknowledges and celebrates union members’ achievements in areas like political action, organization and community service. The event draws about 1,000 attendees each year; Koonz McKenney was one of the event’s sponsors as well as the sponsor for the pre-dinner reception.
The AFL-CIO is a federation of labor unions all over the United States. It has worked to represent the rights and opinions of its 12.2 million members since 1955. AFL-CIO is committed to improving the lives of working families, ensuring fair, safe workplaces and giving a voice to workers in this country.
“This event is one example of our more than 30-year commitment to union workers and organized labor,” said Washington, D.C. injury attorney David Schloss, a partner at Koonz McKenney. “By representing injured workers in their workers’ compensation and other personal injury cases, we fight on their behalf to make sure that they are not taken advantage of by their employers or insurance companies.”
The law firm of Koonz, McKenney, Johnson, DePaolis & Lightfoot, LLP represents clients all over the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including Virginia and Maryland, in personal injury cases. The firm has more than a quarter century of experience advocating for people seriously injured by medical malpractice, unsafe work environments, car accidents, and other accidents and incidents that cause injury. The Evening With Labor is the annual AFL-CIO awards dinner and dance, which the labor council has been sponsoring for 32 years. It is a time for local politicians, labor leaders, and friends of labor to come together to recognize the work of union members in political action, organizing, community services, and other areas. About 1,000 people attend each year. KMJDL has faithfully been a part of these festivities and will be for years to come.
