Premises Liability Lawyer Explains The Law On Video

Serving the Injured in the Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland Areas

In this series of videos, premises liability lawyer Marc Fiedler explains the law and the different levels of classification of visitors on property. This information is relevant to people who have been injured by a slip and fall or other accident, as well as homeowners and business owners who wish to protect themselves and their guests.

Homeowners and business owners have a duty to maintain their property to avoid having guests be injured due to dangerous conditions the owner knew about or should have known about. There are three classifications for people hurt on business or residential property, each presenting a distinct level of legal liability upon an owner. Attorney Marc Fiedler explains how each classification of guests results in different types of premises liability:

  • Trespasser: A person who does not have a legal right to be on the property.
  • Licensee: A guest of the owner, typically a social guest in a residential home.
  • Invitee: A guest who provides a benefit to the property owner, such as a customer of a business.

Marc Fiedler is not only a slip and fall lawyer for people suffering accidents on property, but a seasoned appellate litigator whose work has not only resulted in significant verdicts and settlements for his clients, but changes to the law for the better.
